Recently a couple of pictures have shown up on the net claiming to be pics of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl character select screen. But they are very different so clearly at least on of them is a fake.
Of the two I think this is the more likely to be real for several reasons.
- The color scheme resembles the Wii's interface much more closely .

- The size of the character roster although less impressive than the other pic is much more believable.

- The characters listed and there portraits are very believable.

- It's hard to tell but the name entered looks a lot like Matt as in Matt Casamassina from IGN, the one person who might have access to this game (but probably not).

This one seems a bit more like a fake to me.
- The background is black definitely not Wii style.

- Links portrait looks a little to copy and pasted to be the work of Nintendo.

- The size of the character roster is to good to be true
|
- Why are only the currently announced characters unlocked?

So at least one is a fake. But is it just one or both? Feel free to leave you opinion in the comments.

ReplyDelete1st one doesn't leave any room for Diddy.
It also doesn't leave enough room for Falco, Wolf, Mewtwo, Blaziken, Lucario to all fit where they would.
Also not enough room for Meta Knight, De De De, and extra Fire Emblem characters. And Tom Nook is NOT playable, he is in the background of SmashVille.
Second one, is missing Peach and Ness as starting characters. Also, there is no space left for Waluigi.
Both are fake but Matt has no idea what hes talking about. Nook is still a possible char candidate. Because there is an AC rep in the game... Why? Because the AC leaf emblem. And sakurai mentions both nook and the humans. Both said characters were/are in the BG of smashville. Most prominent AC characters are in the BG. So being in the BG means nothing. If not Nook than the humans, but at this point one doesnt have an upper hand over the other.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is quite convincing but the creator himself said it was fake. And luigis name says "pikachu".
The black one is even worse. He uses an old character art of kirby rather than the one from the dojo. It looks like the boxart to the SNES game.
try typing meta knight into google, the first image that comes up happens to be the one displayed for his character in the first screen ;)
ReplyDeleteas for the second well i don't know about you but i work at a sega testing facility and we don't keep our top secret projects on a screen next to a window (which can be seen reflected in the corner of the screen and what looks like trees)
the top picture is pure fail. look at the portrait thumbnails for snake, fox, and several other characters...they are slapped on and poorly alligned. also..since when is luigi "pikachu"? *cough* failure *cough*
ReplyDeleteNot to mention Tom Nook is in no way possibly playable, especially since he is in the background of a stage already.
The bottom, second pic however is more beleiveable because the character arrangement follows that of the melee character select screen.
Top row: mario cast, DK cast, F-zero cast, etc.
Middle rows: star fox cast, zelda cast, kirby, game and watch, pitt, ice climbers.
Bottom row: Pokemon cast, Fire emblem cast, etc etc.
Very last Bottom row: 6 open slots for possible thrid party characters and high priority characters. Two of whom we know are Sonic and Snake, leaving 4 more of a rumored, Megaman, Geno, Krystal, and Olimar.
The other two rumored to be Ridley and K. Rool. Ridley has no feasable moveset outside of an assist trophy.
The bottom pic is thusly more credible due to quality of the picture and character arrangement/number of spots.
However i am NOT saying its real...just pointing out the pic you should be focusing on is the bottom one because the top one is obviously pure, unadulterated phail.

I know that the second one is a fake because the character select screen is white.

the 1 pic is pure fake because my friend as the game and its identical to the 2 pic and there is no blaziken , no waluigi, no geno , no megaman , no kristal, no mewtwo , no nook who the hell is he and and if you said that there is too much slots so its fake well you are wrong cause me and my friend have all the characters and its the same amount.
