The Console Wars (The Broken One)

xbox-360-system.jpgMicrosoft Aka: The Broken One - Microsoft's X-Box was the most powerful system of the last generation. But unlike the most powerful current gen system the X-Box had the software to backup it's hardware. With some of the best game of the last gen consoles such as Halo, Splinter Cell, KOTOR and Jade Empire. And to add even more to it Microsoft created the only true online console experience available at the time.

Here we are at beginning of a new console war and once again if you want to have a great multiplayer
experience the Xbox 360 is the console for you. Microsoft made the smart decision of getting an advantage over there competitors by releasing there console a hole year before Sony and Nintendo's new consoles. And now that both competing systems have been released the 360 has a full year worth of games to choose from, and a fine list it is with such titles as Dead Rising, Oblivion, GRAW, Rainbow Six: Vegas and Vivia
PiƱata just to name few.

Microsoft does however have a big problem, there systems keep dying. It is always risky to be an early
adopter of a new piece of hardware. Usually after a few months all of the bugs are worked out of the system but in with the 360 that does not seem to be the case. From the looks of things there is a lot more people having to send there systems in for maintenance than not. Many people have gone through upwards to 2-5 Xbox 360's and Microsoft is still
denying that anything is wrong. And to add icing to the cake they are still charging people to repair the mistakes that is there fault to begin with. So to any one shopping for one be sure to get an extended warranty from the dealer so that you can avoid all of Microsoft's maintenance fees when it stops working, witch it probably will.

The Xbox 360 is a fine choice for gamers combining an affordable price with great HD graphics and a ton of
excellent games with some of the best multiplayer features around the catch is you also have to buy a fire extinguisher for when it over heats. So to finish this up my prediction is that this generation the Xbox 360 will closely follow the Wii in sales and blow the Ps3 away.

The Console Wars (The Cocky one)

As my very first topic I would like to write about the current war being waged between the three monster corporation’s Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony. And so it begins…

Sony (Aka: the cocky one) - Sony was once-upon a time my company of choice. With the Ps1 & Ps2’s wining combo of having a huge selection of both exclusive and multi-platform games and an affordable price mark for both there hardware and software.

The Ps2 is still home to some of the finest games around, just to name a few there is Final Fantasy X & XII, Ico, God of War 1 & 2, Bully and that doesn't even begin to scratch the suffice! But sadly having so many great games and the best selling consoles on the market for quite a few years has made Sony cocky. Thinking that the consumer would now buy any system that says Sony on it no mater what the price is without even looking at the competition appears to be a severe error in judgement.

Fortunately for Sony they do still have a few aces up there sleeve. As all gamers know the hardware is very important but in the end no matter how good it is the games are why we choose a console and at the moment many of Sony's aces such as Metal-Gear Solid 4 and the Final Fantasy franchise are at risk of appearing on competing systems.

And so to bring my ranting about Sony to a close I leave you with this question. Will you pay $600 for a console that may have almost no exclusive games?
